Assembly was easy, but had to be redone when I discovered that without gluing the support rods in place (no mention in the brief instructions and no included glue), it simply falls over from instability. The legs are not quite flat and require a little adjustmant to make the stand stable on a flat wood floor. For the price, it is an OK piece for a mudroom or a hallway. It does become unbalanced and fall over when heavy winter coats are not placed in an almost exactly symmetric pattern around the pole.

I purchased this coat rack based on its color, price and perceived durability and I feel content with the acquisition overall. It is a very dark piece of furniture and seemed fairly true to the picture's representation. I was able to assemble it in under 30 minutes and had I read the directions it may have taken even less of my time. It easily handles the weight of my coats and sweatshirts without concern of tipping over. The base seems well designed and sits firmly on the floor. I spent a little more than I wanted to but feel that it wasn't outrageously overpriced. With inflation looming, 80 bucks for a coat rack that doesn't tip over may soon look like a steal to we the bargain hunting consumer. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a coat rack under $100 dollars.

I've had this coat rack for about a year and it already needs to be replaced. It leans horribly and doesn't even have that much on it. Thinking it just needed to be tightened up, I removed everything and then found that the screws weren't even doing any good. I remembered that the screws didn't match up very well when I first received it, but that was on a different part of the rack. There is only one screw in the very bottom of the rack, in the middle, and it's not enough to hold a tall coat tree steady with things hanging on it. While the color is nice and it looks great at first, it doesn't do its job. Don't waste your money unless you want to be shopping for another rack in less than a year.
