Studio Space Saver

I used to have one of those folding racks to dry my clothes. But, now I'm in a studio and I can't stand looking at that rack in the living room/dining room/bedroom/office/kitchen, taking up valuable space. I started looking for something smaller. This fits over my shower door where I can just leave it out of the way where it works great.My wishes? 1) That the instructions were better. I almost broke it right out of the package because I couldn't figure out the instructions. Either that, or I was too impatient. 2) That it felt sturdier. Every time I use it I expect it to break because it just feels so flimsy. I've been using it for a month now and it hasn't so it gets some points for that but I'm being consciously cautious. 3) That the slats weren't so close together. I realize that they need to be to maximize its small profile, but they are almost too close to be useful. Clothes are too close together and touch, keeping them from drying. Now, IF the slats were a bit sturdier (see #2) they might be able to be spaced further apart.The bottom line? Good. Not great. But it gets the job done and is worth the cost if you're looking for something to get a few items of clothing a week dry.

Excellent little drying rack

I don't have a lot of space in my apartment, but wash all our clothes by hand and hang dry. The Leifheit Quartett Over-the-Door Drying Rack does exactly what it says. I can hang four pair of pants on it, or numerous other smaller items. It's great not to have it sitting out taking up space in the middle of a room. I highly recommend this product! I'd love it if it weren't as pricy, but I've gotten my money's worth. I bought something cheaper at first, and had to throw it away after its third use. That's WASTEFUL. I'll be using the Leifheit Quartett indefinitely. I suspect I'll break down before it will.

My son has very sensitive skin and lots of allergies. He can't use disposable diapers or synthetic fabrics, so we have to use cotton diapers with wool covers. The wool covers are bulky and I didn't have enough drawer space in the changing table for them, plus they have to be aired out between uses. I bought this rack to hang from the side of the changing table so that I could hang diaper covers on it. It was so easy to use! I can hang a dozen diaper covers from it. This has freed up an entire drawer and allowed me to get rid of the folding drying rack (which was a hazard in a baby's room). Now my diaper covers are easy to reach and organized!I also want to address one of the other reviews that gave this 1 star. The reviewer says that the hooks don't support a regular door and are too wide and need to be screwed in. This person does not understand how to use the drying rack - and it only took me 1 minute with a toddler in my arms to figure it out. It's really not difficult. The hooks are wide to accomodate basically anything you want to hang the rack from. It could hang from a door, a railing/banister, a window sill, a bed footboard, a fence, etc. The hooks themselves are not adjustable. What is adjustable is the position of the hooks in relation to the blue part you see in the picture. The hooks slide in and are held in place by the red clips (which you can squeeze to release the hooks and pull them back out). Then a flat end on the blue plastic presses up against your door. This effectively allows the hook to be very narrow (like the 1" railing on my changing table) or wide like a 4" banister. It's really a clever design!I recommend this to anyone who has a confined space and wants to be able to dry several items or organize several items. I could even see using this to store belts, ties, or scarves. It's such a versatile little rack.
